Mission Statement

Here at Mountain Sentinel, we believe fiction makes a difference. Nonfiction only reaches people on an intellectual level. While it may provide a winning argument, it does not reach the reader on an emotional subjective level, which is where we all live.

Fiction can do this. And the best fiction can do this in an entertaining manner, sometimes with humor, sometimes with horror, and sometimes through engaging, heartfelt portraits of human existence. That is the kind of fiction we intend to present here.

Currently, we are offering all content for free online. Eventually, we intend to establish a print edition. At that time, we will begin paying contributors.
